Their Wedding Will Make You Believe In Fate | Kauai Wedding Video
Alex and Lauren might possibly have the best vows I've heard. Their love story is incredible and inspiring and romantic - with a lot of laughter, friends and sparkles mixed in. If you are looking for wedding vow inspiration, Alex and Lauren's vows should be on your list! They know how to celebrate - yoga on the beach, a jungle party and of course the wedding with their incredible vows and personal touches from friends and family! I'm so honored to have played a part in capturing their timeless love with this wedding video.

Waioli Mission House Wedding // Rose + Casey
If you take a trip to Kauai, you might never hear of the Waioli Mission House, but it’s a hidden gem - and perfect for a wedding. We timed the ceremony between quick showers and crossed our fingers for the weather to hold long enough to get Rose and Casey hitched - and it did! I totally fell in love with the rich red, pink and green colors of their arch and table decor.

Dreamy Sunset Beach Wedding // Brittany + Micah
The beautiful words of officiant Kelvin Ho seem like the perfect match to Brittany and Micah. When I began capturing footage of them together I felt happy - they made me so happy to see such a calm and deep love and to have the honor of capturing it. Watch the video - you’ll see. They are wonderful together.

They have my favorite type of love - the best friends for life, adventure buddy, never stop laughing and smiling type of love. Just a quick peek at this mini wedding video will have you smiling and falling in love with these two as a couple.

Sunrise Beach Wedding // Betsy + Nate
I’ll admit - waking up before the sun doesn’t come naturally to me - but for Betsy and Nate’s wedding, it was worth it! The water at Shipwrecks beach was shimmering with pink and orange when I arrived and it only got prettier as the ceremony went on.

Places to Get Married In Kauai // Stunning Locations
As a Kauai wedding videographer, I get to explore the island and discover great spots for weddings. From breathtaking cliffs to magical, tree lined forests, there is no shortage of phenomenal destinations on the island. I put together a visual guide to some of my favorites on a map here. For more tips on choosing Kauai wedding venues, continue below.
Free Wedding Locations on Kauai
Kauai has many locations for a wedding that are free (plus the small price of a permit - don’t forget to get one!). The downside to the free spots, which are mostly beaches, is that you will give up some of your privacy and you can’t set up chairs on a public beach.
How to Find the Perfect Wedding Ceremony Spot
First, determine your budget, then decide your ideal look. Will your wedding be beachy, country inspired, luxurious, woodsy, or possibly adventurous? Do you plan on having a reception afterwards and do you want it at the same location? Is accessibility an issue - if you have older relatives or friends, is it easy to get to? How many guests do you plan to have? Once you’ve narrowed down locations with these considerations, it’s time to start searching! You can see some of my favorites on a map here. I don’t include many of the hotels because they’re easier to find. You can start calling venues (if they aren’t public) to see pricing, availability and wedding size limits. This is also a wonderful time to enlist the help of a Kauai wedding coordinator if you plan on using one. They’ll be able to help you narrow down your options more quickly.
Planning For Kauai Weather
One thing that can be a big stressor on a wedding in Hawaii is the weather. We have our rainy season in the winter and spring, but there are no guarantees. If you’re worried about rains or storms ruining your day, you might want to choose a venue that has a weather backup plan. This is an important question to ask when talking to venues and also coordinators. I often do weddings with the Grand Hyatt Kauai, and they come to mind first at how well they deal with weather surprises. I once saw them relocate an outdoor wedding reception into their ballroom in less than an hour! If you’re having a smaller wedding at a public spot, make sure to ask your vendors how they handle the weather. Some photographer and videographers (including myself) will not shoot in heavy rain.
Keep in mind that weather apps will most always forecast rain for Kauai but that’s because it will rain in the evening or have a small passing shower somewhere on the island. The weather can change quickly on Kauai and be very different from one part to another - the West and South sides of Kauai tend to be less rainy.

May + Mitch // Kauai Wedding Video
We were so honored to find out that our video of May and Mitch at Shipwrecks Beach in Poipu, Kauai was featured on Love Stories TV. Click the link to read all about May and Mitch’s beautiful love story and their Kauai elopement.
Elopements are one of my favorites because I feel it is an immense honor to capture the wedding so the couple can share it with their friends and family at home. If I get an email saying that everyone felt they felt like they were actually at the wedding because of the film, then I feel my job was done well.
May and Mitch had their Kauai wedding at Shipwrecks beach in Poipu. It’s a little hike to the bluff, but the views are stunning, making for a great wedding video.

Sam + Troy // Kauai Wedding Video
Sam and Troy have the sweetest love story. From college study partners to husband and wife, these two have grown up together! My favorite quote of the day:
When a man makes you a sandwich, you know it’s true love.
They had so many friends and family that made the trip out to celebrate their love in Hawaii. Aside from the sweetest couple, my favorite part of the day was the dancing – everyone was on the floor showing their moves.

Kayla + Cameron // Kauai Beach Wedding
These two were so adorable and gorgeous together and their destination wedding to Kauai was just perfect. I love filming weddings and capturing those small glances and smiles between couples – those are the little moments that I feel show real love.
Kayla and Cam were married at the gorgeous Grand Hyatt Kauai at their oceanside site overlooking Shipwrecks Beach – a stunning view for a wedding! I love that they Kauai Hyatt has so many amazing spots for video – the beach, the gardens, the waterfall – it’s all beautiful – a wedding filmmakers paradise!

Laura + Andy // Kauai Wedding Video
No measure of time with you will be long enough, but we’ll start with forever.
Laura found the perfect quote to describe her and Andy’s love. When they’re together, they look so at ease and content – like they know they have forever to be together. They chose the Plantation Gardens Restaurant for their wedding ceremony and reception. It is a tucked away treasure in Poipu, Kauai with amazing food and a stunning succulent garden – which is perfect for photos and the beach is just a short walk away too!

Kellen + Eric // Kauai Wedding Video
By the time I had finished filming Kellen and Eric’s wedding, my face hurt from smiling so much, and I must have said “awww” at least thirty times. They are just SO cute and crazy in love! Both had heartfelt and touching vows that they wrote, bringing a tear to many an eye and a few giggles too! I was sad to see the evening end and have to say goodbye. Congratulations you two!

Erin + Jed // Kauai Beach Wedding
Erin and Jed couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day and stunning location for their wedding. The pristine shores of Maha’ulepu and the Gillin Beach House served as the perfect backdrop for their sweet and short ceremony. When I write short, I mean SHORT! The ceremony was under five minutes long, but in that short time, Erin and Jed spoke beautiful words of love, gratitude and devotion that had the guests smiling and laughing.
Congratulations Erin and Jed!

Christine + Justin // Kauai Beach Wedding Video
Some weddings are so much fun they don’t feel like work and Christine and Justin’s was one of them. From the moment I met Christine and her family I felt like part of the party. It was such an honor to capture their Kauai wedding for their friends and family to see at their reception back home.
Anini beach is a little tricky for finding parking, but sunset is worth it! What amazing colors! It makes filming weddings so rewarding.

Larissa + Satoshi // Big Island, Hawaii Wedding
If there were an award for it, I think Larissa and Satoshi would have won the most magical wedding award. How can you beat wild horses, black sand beaches, valley views, swings and a head over heels in love couple? It was the first wedding I filmed on the Big Island of Hawaii, and I had so much fun exploring new places and filming this lovely couple. Waipio Valley is absolutely magical!
By the way – Isn’t their custom cake topper adorable?

Faye + Paul // Private Estate Kauai Wedding
Faye and Paul were married under a canopy of swaying palms and a vibrant blue sky in sunny Poipu. I absolutely loved their daringness on portrait venues and all the beautiful decor that Faye thought up. I didn’t catch it on video, but the photographer was attacked by an ambitious wave. Luckily, he and his gear are fine
This was such a fun day! To end it all, the bridesmaids took the plunge into the swimming pool! Might as well if you’re having a wedding on warm Kauai.

Roohina + Mohamed // Kauai Beach Wedding Video
I don’t usually get the pleasure of meeting my couples before the wedding day, but I got to see Roohina and Mo twice! The first was at our first meeting – nice excuse to travel to Kauai – and the second was at their Sangeet. I love the contrast of the two days I filmed them – one was bright and had a Hawaiian-Indian fusion feel, and the other was lush, opulent and absolutely gorgeous. Both celebrations were at the Na Aina Kai Botanical Gardens on Kauai and were coordinated by Moana Events. I absolutely love filming at such breathtaking venues with such fun people!
